Privacy Policy
App: Noon Islamic App
Developer: Takbir Technologies
Last Updated: March 6, 2026
Version: v3.1
Noon Islamic App ("we", "our", or "the App") is built with a privacy-first approach. We do not require user accounts and we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers.
This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.
1. Data Collection Overview
We Do NOT:
- Create user accounts
- Collect names, emails, or phone numbers
- Store personal data on our servers
- Use analytics or advertising trackers
- Sell or share user data
2. On-Device Data Storage
The app stores certain data only on your device using:
- SQLite database
- SharedPreferences
This includes:
- Tasbeeh counter values
- Prayer time settings
- App preferences
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
Note: SQLite and SharedPreferences operate entirely within the app's private sandbox on Android. No storage permission is required or requested.
3. Location Usage (Optional)
Why Location Is Used
Location is used to calculate accurate prayer times for your city.
How It Works
- Location permission is requested only after a clear explanation screen
- The app accesses location only when needed for prayer time calculation
- Location is not accessed in the background
- Continuous tracking does not occur
What Is Sent
To retrieve prayer times, the app sends approximate latitude and longitude to a public Islamic prayer time API.
- No name
- No device ID
- No personal identifiers
We do not store your location on our servers.
You may deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings → Apps → Noon → Permissions.
Location Data Sharing Disclosure
Approximate location coordinates are shared with our third-party prayer time API provider solely for the purpose of calculating prayer times.
- No other personal data is shared with any third party
- We do not sell, rent, or trade user information
4. AI Feature – Email Collection for Notifications
Optional Email Submission
When you choose to use the "Notify Me" feature on the AI page, you may voluntarily provide your email address to receive updates about upcoming features.
This email is collected only with your explicit consent after you agree to this Privacy Policy.
How Your Email Is Used
Your email address is securely stored and used solely for:
- Sending updates related to upcoming AI features
- Notifying you when the AI feature becomes available
What We Do NOT Do
- Sell your email address
- Share your email with third parties
- Use your email for advertising or marketing unrelated to the AI feature
Your Control
You may request the removal of your email address at any time by contacting us at our support email.
Note: We take appropriate security measures to protect your email and ensure it is handled responsibly.
5. Analytics and Diagnostics (Optional)
Noon Islamic App collects limited technical and usage data to improve app quality, monitor performance, diagnose crashes, and understand feature engagement.
What May Be Collected
- Device type and OS version
- App version
- Firebase-generated identifiers
- Crash logs and performance data
- Aggregated interaction events
This data is not used to directly identify users.
Purpose of Collection
This information is used only to:
- Improve app stability and performance
- Fix crashes and technical issues
- Understand feature usage in an aggregated way
Third-Party Processing
Data may be processed securely by trusted service providers such as:
- Google Firebase
- Supabase
This is strictly for analytics, security, and service reliability.
User Control
Analytics collection is optional. You can disable it at any time from the in-app settings toggle.
Data Handling
We do not sell personal data and do not use analytics data for advertising or profiling.
You may request privacy support or data-related inquiries by contacting us at our support email.
6. Microphone / Voice Search (Optional)
Why the Microphone Is Used
The microphone is used in two optional voice input features:
- Quran Search: Speak Arabic words to search the Quran by voice
- New Tasbeeh: Speak the name of a Tasbeeh (in Arabic or English) to fill in the name field by voice
In both cases, your spoken words are converted to text and used only within the app.
How It Works
- Microphone access is requested only when you tap the mic button
- The system permission dialog appears before any audio is captured
- Audio is processed by Android’s built-in Speech Recognition service (powered by Google on most devices)
- Only the converted text is used by the app — we never receive raw audio
- Listening stops automatically after silence or when you tap the mic button again
What We Do NOT Do
- Record or store audio files
- Transmit audio to our servers
- Use the microphone in the background
- Use voice data for any purpose other than Quran text search
Note: Android’s Speech Recognition service (Google) may process audio on Google’s servers depending on your device model and settings. Please review Google’s Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles speech data.
You may deny or revoke microphone permission at any time in Settings → Apps → Noon → Permissions. Revoking microphone access only disables voice search; all other features remain unaffected.
7. Internet Access
Internet is used only for:
- Fetching prayer times from a public Islamic API
- Loading app configuration data from Supabase
- Voice search: audio is sent to Android’s Speech Recognition service (Google) for text conversion
No personal user information is transmitted to us.
8. Third-Party Services
Google Speech Recognition (Android)
Used to convert spoken words into text for both the Quran voice search and the Tasbeeh voice input features. Audio is processed by Android’s built-in speech engine; we do not receive or store any audio data. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Islamic Prayer Time API
Used to retrieve monthly prayer schedules using approximate coordinates. We are not affiliated with or responsible for the infrastructure of this external API provider.
Supabase
Used only for delivering public app configuration data (such as menu content and feature flags). No personal user data is stored or processed.
We Do NOT Use:
- Analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
- Advertising networks or ad trackers
- Crash reporting tools
- User behavior tracking tools
9. Children's Privacy
The app does not collect personal data and does not display advertisements. It is safe for users of all ages and complies with COPPA.
10. Your Control
You may at any time:
- Deny or revoke permissions in device settings
- Clear app data via Settings → Apps → Noon → Clear Data
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information
11. Data Security
All locally stored data remains within your device's secure app sandbox.
We recommend enabling device lock and encryption for additional protection.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if app features change. Updates will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
13. Data Retention
All app data stored using SQLite and SharedPreferences remains only on your device.
This on-device data is retained until you:
- Clear app data from device settings, or
- Uninstall the app
Approximate location coordinates sent to the prayer time API are not stored by us and are not retained after the API response is received.
We do not maintain any user data on our servers.
